in my eyes
By profession I work with light. By obsession I follow it.
For thirty years I've chased the light no one designs: sun cutting across a street for a few minutes, falling on people who don't know they're being seen.
In colour and in black and white, my compass points are Jacques Tati's quiet comedy of the everyday, Wim Wenders' long gaze, and Trent Parke's hard, theatrical sun.
The pictures move between humour and solitude, between people and the animals that share their streets.
Seeing, for me, is a kind of listening.
I mostly work alone.
These are the moments that stayed.
